Whew! Wednesday, the moving truck arrived about 8 am. It took ALL day to load it. Four guys wrapped all the furniture and carried it and box after box to the truck. The driver then carefully packed each piece in. Finally at about 5, they were ready to load the CR-V in. It took an hour to get that exactly perfect for the driver.
We finally said good-bye to Memphis shortly after 6. We got to my parents some time after 10. This morning we left about 8:45 to head to Peoria. Noah rode with Mom & Dad about an hour behind us. We got here about 2:30 this afternoon.
We headed out to our new apartment just before dinner. The landlord had gotten tied up with something else so he said he was unable to meet us. We went to see if the door was unlocked anyway. It was--a lady was actually inside finishing the cleaning. While we were there, the landlord showed up with the fridge and stove that have yet to installed. Oh and there is still a HUGE dumpster in our driveway. He says it is supposed to be moved tonight. We'll see.
He gave us the key so hopefully everything will be finished up when we show up at 7 tomorrow morning to move in.
For now we are exausted from hours in the car, keeping track of kids in a hotel room, etc etc. We are looking forward to being in our own place that we don't have to worry about being spotless for sale for the moment.
Glad to hear that you guys made it. I've been thinking about you. Now the fun of unpacking begins!
