This summer, Noah wanted to know how long it would take him to earn $100 at $3 a week. I guessed and told him it would take until his birthday. So he decided he didn't want allowance and instead wanted to wait until his birthday and get $100 bill. He talked about it nonstop and what he was going to buy with it. We are so proud of him for waiting!
Instead of having a birthday party, he agreed to go to LegoLand in Schaumburg instead. I don' think he realized it was activity place. The whole time he was anxious to go to the lego store and spend his money.

Chicago shoreline made entirely of legos. Since it's so close to Halloween, they had little skeletons and pumpkins and such everywhere.

Lego Star Wars

We all built mini Sears Towers

Lego Land was kind of a bust. It was not cheap, it was crowded. I am realizing my kids kind of such down in crowds. They didn't want to ride the ride, or see the 3D movie. That was a big chunk of the place. We briefly looked through their store. We had heard the Lego Store in Woodfield, which is a huge mall nearby, was bigger. We headed over there after checking into our hotel. It was a great store. It had all the lego sets Noah had seen in his catalogue. It had a few tables to play with legos (which kept E & L entertained while Noah shopped). Noah decided on two new star wars sets.

My mom and dad came up for the weekend to see my Grandparents so they met us for dinner. We went to Rainforest Cafe in the mall. The kids were not fans. Leah did not like the gorillas--she is still telling me that when she sees these pictures. E wasn't crazy about them either. Probably didn't help that they were so tired.

The next morning, we went to visit my Grandparents and celebrate Noah's birthday with them.

My parents kept the kids entertained for a little while so we could hit Ikea by ourselves. Then we came back, ate lunch and headed home.
Sunday afternoon, we gathered up all the neighborhood kids for birthday cupcakes.
Quite the birthday celebration!
