E had his first preschool field trip this week. L and I got to go with. We went to Ackerman Farms which is a pumpkin farm on the edge of Morton, about 10 min down the road. Did you know Morton is the pumpkin capitol of the world? 85% of the canned pumpkin is processed in the Libby's plant here. According to Farmer John, it's a great year for pumpkins, so hopefully no canned pumpkin shortage this year!
We checked out the pumpkins and squash. We had a very exciting presentation showing us each different variety they grow. There are a lot of them, more than a 3 y/o attention span.

We picked out a few to bring home.

And we checked out all the animals--goats, chickens, turkeys, bunnies, and kittens.

A beautiful day for a field trip. We'll go back here as a family to pick out our carving pumpkins.
Let us know when you come back for pumpkins. We live like 3 minutes from there.
