I posted on a local message board asking for suggestions about how to take care of our monster problem. There was lots of good advice, like using the monster spray which I am pretty sure Noah won't go for, or talking about good monsters like Grover and Cookie and Elmo. What made the most sense however was never even acknowledging there is such a thing as monsters. For lack of a better phrase--well duh! Why didn't we from the beginning say that monsters aren't real so they are nothing to worry about. Of course this would make sense with my intelligent logical child.
Some how monsters came up at dinner tonight and i said monsters aren't real. Noah nodded his head and said yeah they're just on tv. yep that's right. He went right to bed tonight. No monster worries. Of course we let him go to bed later and he didn't have a nap. Plus he needs one more ticket to get another toy out of time out. He gets one in the morning if he doesn't get out of bed. A little bribery works wonders in our house.
thank goodness! nice to get a break from all that mayhem. i guess i just figured you had already tried the "don't exist" route.
