We had plenty of time and I wanted to check out this closer to home beach. Our first glimpse of Lake Michigan. We had to park a little way from the beach and walk a path that took us over the dune. Here we are pretty much at the top. Now to head down to the water.
The water felt pretty good. It wasn't an extremely hot day (cooler than Peoria), but humid. The beach was sandy but at the waters edge and into the lake it was rocky.
I was surprised to see such big waves in a Lake.
This was the first wave to hit us. I was standing in the water to take this picture and got pretty wet too!
