If you ever need a place to go in December, think about coming to Memphis to see the Singing Christmas Tree at Bellevue Baptist Church. This church has more members than my hometown (26,000 +) and A LOT of them are involved in this very professional production. It's something everyone should see once in their lives.
Anyway, we took Noah last night. At first I wasn't sure how it would go since he didn't really understand what was going to happen. It is a play/musical/Christmas story all in one. It took a few minutes for him to get into it because there is a lot of dialogue in the beginning, but once the music started, he was there. It is an amazing show. There are probably 100 people on stage singing and dancing at the same time. Not to mention the GIANT Christmas tree that takes up the center stage. They have an angel fly in to tell Mary and Joseph about the birth of Jesus. Then once Jesus in born, two more angels fly in to celebrate. And when the shepards hear the news, it is a bit frightening, with cymbals and drums and lightening, but it is very dramatic and just amazing.
I could tell Noah was into it because he kept grabbing my shirt and pulling me toward him so he could ask a question, or 20. And then we left a bit early because the pastor was coming out to give his welcome and it was about over (and after 9). Noah got really upset. He didn't want to leave!
It was so fun to take him to this and see his reaction. And like I said, if you every have the opportunity to see this just once in your life, try it!
Wow! Sounds pretty neat! I'm glad Noah enjoyed it too. We'll have to try and see it next year.
