First Day of First Grade

(That makes me think of a Veggie Tales song..anyone?)

Noah's first day was today. Such a change from last year! Yes he's wearing his grubby crocs. He has new shoes but decided this morning that they are too big. So they are going back.

L was the only one who would take a pic with him.

Of course a Star Wars backpack. And we have a Star Wars lunch box and thermos. And this afternoon we made a shrinky dink lego storm trooper name tag. (Shrinky dinks are so fun. You should try them!)

He decided he just wanted me to drop him off. So I did. :( He made his way through the crowd of parents at the door and found his line in the gym. He did tell me later he keeps forgetting he's in first grade. He asked where the 2nd grade line was. Silly kid.

Just a half day today. He was all smiles and talk when we picked him up. He said it was all fun. He thinks first grade is going to be great. Yay!

Tonight is our first soccer practice of the fall season. We've moved up to the under8 league and size 4 ball! We also have our favorite coach, Coach Betsy. She's a mom of 3 or 4 boys the youngest is Noah's age. She was our coach last fall and she does an awesome job with the kids!

It makes soccer so much more enjoyable when you know the coach cares and the kids are getting something out of it!
