This is E's first season of soccer. He really wanted to play but has backed off a bit in the last few weeks. I had to bribe him to try on the shinguards. But then he willingly put them on for practice. Our neighbor is the coach so we already had his shirt. We got to practice and he absolutely refused to participate. He just followed us around the field. Stubborn.
But as soon as practice was over and the field was cleared--he even told us he wanted to wait until everyone was gone--he was ready to go. We played together for at least 30 minutes. He didn't want to leave. It was a lot of fun. Afterwards he said he wished he had played. Unfortunately we dont play again for almost 2 weeks due to the holiday weekend. Hopefully he'll feel the same way next weekend!
He looked like a natural out there.
