When the boys are away...

How to keep a 2 year old busy when her best friends/playmates are gone.

They boys stayed behind with Grandma and Grandpa and later Nanna and Papaw when we came home. Leah was a bit harder to entertain without Elijah here to play with.

I gave her a big bucket of water and a little cup to water the garden with. Kept her busy long enough to pull a bunch of weeds. It was a huge week for neighborhood garage sales here, so we did a lot of that between rain drops. Thursday night we scored a pair of Croc MaryJanes for $2, hardly worn. Someday she'll fit into them. And a stack of books, including Where the Sidewalk Ends for .50

All week we'd been looking for My Little Ponies. We finally found some at our last yardsale Friday morning. Two ziplocks bags full for $2. I discovered not all were the real thing, but she doesn't care. She loves them. She especially likes the smaller ones. She played with them in her little people house. She has quite the imagination. She is already making the horses talk to each other. Guess she learned that from the boys? Just being silly with Mommy. Enjoying the undivided attention and not having to share the camera. This is a version of my favorite smile. She grins at me with her nose all wrinkled up.

Making banana muffins. She ate a lot of batter, saying yummy yummy. I never tasted it, but the raw batter wasn't very appealing to me. She will hardly eat the cooked muffins any more. She loved them the first time I made them.
