yard work

Now that we have grass (mostly) we are tearing it out for flower beds. Sigh. T has been hard at work digging up the grass. First he dug up the grass for my garden boxes. Sorry no pics of that--they're on the other drive--later. We got 6 tons of dirt/compost delivered last week. The guy went to dump it in our driveway and discovered his dumper was broken. So T and the guy shoveled it all out of the truck into our driveway, by hand! It was a lot of work. Then this weekend he carried about 15 wheel barrows full to the back yard to fill the garden. N and I have already planted peas, lettuce and broccoli. We'll wait a few more weeks for the warmer weather stuff.

Then he moved on to the flower beds. It looked like this Sunday afternoon...And tonight--all finished.

We found some one we can borrow a tiller from, so we'll till this up and mix it with the 4 tons of dirt that is left in our driveway. And we have to get this done soon, while it's dry and T is home!
